HIST 320 Ancient Societies and Their People - Section: F5861 (non-credit)
This non-credit course will explore how ancient history is more than a list of famous people and events to memorize. Students will discover the rich history of ancient societies around the world and use evidence found in documents, archaeology, environmental analysis, studies of linguistics, oral histories, art and music to create a comparative survey of ancient people and their lives. This course will focus on different civilizations and themes in ancient history to explore contemporary connections and how the past impacts our world today. This class is designed for older adults with a lifetime of personal experience and encourages creative expression to enhance personal global involvement through the study of ancient world history. This course may be offered in a distance education format.
NOTE: This class is not just for seniors. This class is open to the general community - for attendees of all ages.

Diabetes management is not a simple task. When you are informed about the best steps to take, you can manage it more successfully. Attending this free educational class will help in understanding diabetes. This class is created for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes and is hosted by a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist.
Topics covered:
- Diabetes in general
- What glucose levels mean
- How episodes of high and low sugar are treated
- How to check sugars
- Medications and their side effects
- Preventing complications
- Lifestyle modifications like diet and exercise and how they can (positively) affect your health.
This class is not just for seniors. This class is open to the general community - for attendees of all ages.
