(LLI 60+) Facebook Groups 101

Facebook Groups were hotter than ever in 2020 and in fact, Facebook has made Groups a core component of the platform. Chances are you have joined a group or two and enjoy the discussion among its members. A Facebook Group is just that – a way for an exclusive group of people to communicate, share and keep in touch on Facebook. People tend to create Groups around topics like: a brand or business, books (for example, a book club), common experiences, exclusive membership sites or support groups. If you have always wanted to know how to start a group, expand its membership and create a strong “community” then you should attend this webinar. Our presenter will walk you through all of the basics of a group and demonstrate the features as the administrator to set standards, drive engagement and keep discussion on topic.

In today’s digital world, networking online is just as important as cultivating in-person connections, and LinkedIn is the most important social media channel for professionals in any field including volunteering, working part-time or just wanting to maintain your professional image. Your LinkedIn profile is often the first or second Google search result when someone searches for you online so if you are asking yourself at this stage in life “Why should I bother creating a LinkedIn profile?" If you don’t have a LinkedIn profile today, it is very noticeable. During this webinar, we will cover the basics of creating a profile, LinkedIn messages, search features, connecting with colleagues, asking for recommendations and joining groups.

(LLI 60+) Abuse Prevention

Abuse is a violation of the right we all have to healthy, supportive and safe relationships. The Center for Disease Control reports that approximately 1.3 million women are physically abused each year in the United States. People with disabilities have the highest rates of abuse. In this class, you will learn how to protect yourself and others from abuse. This interactive class also teaches you what abuse is, types of abuse, how to spot an abuser, and how to set personal boundaries so that you can protect yourself from abuse. You will also learn how to report abuse if it happens to you or someone else. This class is designed for people with disabilities, but provides valuable information about abuse for everyone.

YouTube is the second largest search engine and also a valuable tool for individuals, organizations and businesses to organize, manage, and promote their videos as part of their marketing content. Over the two hours together, our presenter will demonstrate live:

• How to create a “brand” YouTube Account and customize your Channel.

• The features available through YouTube Studio for organizing and managing uploaded videos.

• Navigating YouTube Analytics to measure impact.
