Abuse Prevention

Abuse is a violation of the right we all have to healthy, supportive and safe relationships. The Center for Disease Control reports that approximately 1.3 million women are physically abused each year in the United States. People with disabilities have the highest rates of abuse. In this class, you will learn how to protect yourself and others from abuse. This interactive class also teaches you what abuse is, types of abuse, how to spot an abuser, and how to set personal boundaries so that you can protect yourself from abuse. You will also learn how to report abuse if it happens to you or someone else. This class is designed for people with disabilities, but provides valuable information about abuse for everyone.
