Siskiyou EDC - Launching Cottage Food Businesses
This two-part course is structured to support entrepreneurs in Siskiyou County who want to learn how to start and grow a cottage food business.
Session 1:
- What are cottage foods and what are permissible in Siskiyou County and how are they defined
- Permitting and licensing
- Labeling requirements and Packaging
Session 2:
- Define products, brand, and vision
- Identifying target audience
- Online marketing and branding
- Industry trends and benchmarks
- Go-to market strategies
Note: The local SBDC has partnered with Shasta College to bring a series of professional development courses. These courses are beneficial to anyone with a small business or those looking to start a small business.
