6- Hour CA Notary Public Course and Exam

This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and professional skills necessary to become a proficient California notary public and prepare for the State’s examination. 

In addition, this course will satisfy the California State’s mandatory education requirement of reviewing notary laws and practices for current notary public professionals seeking reappointment.  The successful applicant will become a more valuable employee or be able to start his/her own community business. 

California State Proctors will administer the Notary Examination at the end of the class. 

IMPORTANT: Class starts promptly at 8:00am. Please check in at the door prior to 8:00. Due to the mandated time to be in class, students who arrive after 8:30 will NOT be admitted, no exceptions. No refunds will be granted.

  • 8:30-3:30 Class
  • 8-8:30 Check-in/photos for application             
  • 10:30-10:40am break     
  • 12:00pm- 12:40pm lunch     
  • 2:00pm- 2:10pm break
  • 3:30-4:30 Check-in for Exam

PLEASE NOTE: There will be appropriate breaks throughout the day as well as a (no-host) lunch break. Participants may bring a cooler with beverages and food. There are also many places to eat in downtown Redding within walking distance.

Photography Basics With Your Smartphone

An in-person, one day workshop that offers a hands-on learning experience covering the fundamentals of photography with a smartphone: including smartphone techniques, functions, and settings. It will also cover the basics of photography including composition, lighting basics, and visual storytelling. We will start the morning with theory coffee and introductions, then walk through a presentation together, implementing our skills as we go along. Then we will have a guided photography walk downtown, where we will go through different exercises to immediately practice these new skills. We’ll re-group in the classroom for a supportive photo review and q/a.

This in-person advanced photography one-day workshop is for creatives who’ve just picked up a digital camera or are ready to move beyond auto mode and finally take full control of their camera. We’ll kick off the day with coffee and a clear, approachable breakdown of manual settings, followed by hands-on practice that connects the technical with the creative. Negotiating Successfully

Everyone negotiates with others on a regular basis whether they realize it or not.  And when we do realize how often we negotiate, it is in our best interest (and the other party’s) to exercise effective negotiation skills.

The "Negotiating for Results" workshop incorporates concepts and practices used by experienced negotiators, well-known authors, and negotiation consultants.  Its blend of material has proven meaningful for new and seasoned negotiators alike.

Karl has conducted these negotiation workshops in the United States, Canada, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia for procurement professionals, labor negotiating teams, external relations representatives, leadership teams, plus other groups and individuals who negotiate as part of their role.

OSHA 10

This course provides students with knowledge of workplace safety and health standards as shown by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Over 10 hours of instruction, students will learn to identify and mitigate common hazards, including electrical, chemical, and ergonomic risks, and know the rights and responsibilities of employees and employers. Those entering the workforce in different industries, this course emphasizes safety awareness and incident prevention.

Upon completion, students will receive an OSHA 10-Hour General Industry This OSHA 10-Hour General Industry course provides students with essential workplace safety and health knowledge, focusing on hazard identification, prevention, and OSHA regulations. The course is designed for individuals working in general industry settings such as manufacturing, healthcare, warehousing, and retail. Throughout the course, students will explore key topics, including an introduction to OSHA, workers' rights, employer responsibilities, walking and working surfaces, electrical safety, hazard communication, personal protective equipment (PPE), machine guarding, and emergency action plans. Instruction will be delivered through interactive lectures, case studies, and real-world scenarios to reinforce hazard recognition and safe work practices. Students will receive an OSHA 10-Hour General Industry completion card, demonstrating their understanding of workplace safety principles. This credential enhances employability and ensures compliance with safety standards in various industries.
