This intermediate 2-Step class will build on the basic dance skills learned in the Beginning 2-Step class. In this intermediate class we will cover the more advanced dance skills of: body-movement; lead and follow; frame; connection; turns; dance etiquette; and, foot placement in this fast and rhythmic dance.

Aqua Aerobics Deep Water Conditioning - Session #2

Aqua Aerobics Deep Water Conditioning - Session #2
This class is a cross training and rehabilitation method using low impact resistance training which can produce aerobic results, improve full range of motion, increase strength, all without impacting joints. Participants wear a buoyancy belt also called an Aqua Jogger belt and move in various running motions suspended in deep water.
Note: The Aqua Jogger belt helps to keep the participant suspended and upright in the water, but it does not have the support of a life jacket; and therefore, this activity is not advised for the unskilled swimmer.
IMPORTANT: Each participant will need to bring their own aqua jogger belt appropriate for their individual level of buoyancy. They can be found online. Prices will vary, $35 and up depending on source.

Session #3
Shotokan Karate is the authentic traditional karate for the mind, body and spirit!! Don’t miss Shotokan Karate for teens and adults. Get stronger physically and mentally!! This class focuses on basics including stances, blocks, punches, kicks, and Kata which is pre-arranged fighting forms. This class is a combined class of beginning and intermediate levels. The class may be split into two concurrent groups as needed, based on skill levels.
Your instructor is Brad Marsh, a 4th Degree Black Belt of Shotokan Karate of America. This class is for men, women, and youths ages 10 and up. This is a 4-week session.

Day Trip to the DeYoung Museum Bouquets to Art Exhibit and Shopping Spree at the San Francisco Flower Mart
Join us on a day trip to the San Francisco Bouquets to Art exhibit at the De Young Museum. We will enjoy an afternoon at the De Young Museum and take in the incredible show of Bouquets to Art, where art and nature come together to spectacular effect. Bay Area floral artisans are chosen to interpret a piece from the permanent art collection in fresh flowers. Always amazing and a visual treat for anyone that appreciates art or fresh flowers or both. Don't miss this one!
First we will be stopping at the San Francisco Flower Mart for a shopping spree at wholesale prices prior to going to the De Young. The SF Flower Mart is the one-stop floral source for Northern California. There are over 50 individual vendors to choose from. Their wide variety is what sets them apart from all others. Travelers can purchase fresh flowers, plants, shrubs, trees, etc., as well as any floral design materials you can imagine - all at wholesale prices. We will store your newly purchased treasures underneath the motor coach in bins for a safe travel home. Smaller items can be stored on the motor coach.

Redding Location: We will be leaving the Shasta College Redding Main Campus North parking lot and will return to the same. Parking permits for the day have been waived by campus safety.
Red Bluff Location: Meet and board the motor coach at 6:30am at the Red Bluff Main Street Adobe Chevron empty parking lot (dirt lot) next to the Chevron Station. Please do not park in the Chevron customer parking areas.

Incident Safety Awareness for Hired Vendors

Incident Safety Awareness for Hired Vendors
At times when the equipment needed to control an emergency incident exceeds the resources of CALFIRE and the Federal Wildland Fire Agencies, the agencies hire the equipment and services of the private sector to supplement its own resources. Any private contractor or person employed by a private contractor who desires to participate in a wildland fire and may be subject to assignment on the fire line must complete annual training.
The intent of this 8-hour course is to provide private "hired equipment vendors" with the minimum training necessary to satisfy CALFIRE and the Federal Wildland Fire Agencies generic hiring requirements for hired equipment vendors. Typical assignments include: Dozer Operator, Water Tender Operator, tree faller etc. This course covers topics such as: Fire Behavior, Fireline Safety, Organizational Control, Firefighting Terms, the use of Fire Shelters, and other fire related subjects.
This course does not provide training or certify anyone on the use of specific types of equipment and is not intended to attest to the ability of anyone to utilize equipment. Students who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate from the California Office of the State Fire Marshal. This course is part of the Fire Service Training and Education Program. The course fee includes the cost of the certificate and student text.
IMPORTANT: for those who have attended the course previously, if you have been issued a State Fire Training Identification Number, bring it with you to the class along with a current valid picture ID (CA Driver's License or CA Identification Card).
