In this two-day workshop, you’ll discover the art of memory-keeping through scrapbooking. Whether you are new to scrapbooking or have experience, this class will guide you step-by-step in creating your personalized 20-page, 12x12 scrapbook that you can fill with cherished memories. Learn how to design layouts, use embellishments, incorporate photos, and create beautiful, lasting pages. By the end of the class, you will have a completed scrapbook and the skills to continue crafting at home. This workshop is perfect for anyone looking to preserve family history, create unique gifts, or simply enjoy the process of storytelling through paper and photos.

Sizzle's - Sausage Making with Furnari Sausage Co.

This class is masterfully crafted by Donny Dichirico of Funari Sausage Co. You may be familiar with his products that are available at Holiday Market, R&R Meats, Orchard Nutrition, and at the local farmer's markets. By taking one of these classes you will have a great understanding of not only "how the sausage is made" but some great side dishes to pair with the product.

In each class, students will make their own sausage from start to finish in this dynamic cooking class. Additionally, we will prepare one or more side dishes to create a full meal to share at the end.

8/12/25 – Sicilian Sausage with Scialatielli Pasta ("Unkempt Hair") in Pomodoro Sauce, served with Breadsticks

9/23/25 – Andouille Sausage with Cajun Corn Maque Choux and Bananas Foster Bread Pudding

The Great Dickens Christmas Faire is a one-of-a-kind immersive holiday adventure into Victorian London ~  an elaborate holiday party with hundreds of costumed players performing and interacting with patrons in over 140,000 square feet of theatrically-lit music halls, pubs, dance floors, and festive shops. It's a twilight evening in Charles Dickens' London Town - a city of winding lanes filled with colorful characters from both literature and history. Enticing aromas of roasted chestnuts and hearty foods fill the air. Gourmet chefs offer delicious foods from around the world, including English bangers and fish 'n' chips, exotic Greek delicacies, French onion soup, and enticing desserts. Cries of street vendors hawking their wares ring out above the bustling crowd. Dozens of lamplit shops are filled to overflowing with handmade gifts. The Dickens Christmas Fair is a treasured Bay Area tradition since 1970 and a splendid way to celebrate the holidays.

Siskiyou EDC - Wildland Firefighting Procurement

This two-part series will provide small business owners who are interested in becoming a vendor for Cal Fire and the US Forest Service.

Session 1 will focus on the US Forest Service and the Virtual Incident Procurement (VIPR) system. This is the system the US Forest Service utilizes to develop blanket purchase agreements during the off-season, typically January through March. Participants will understand how to navigate the system, what is required to participate, how to register, and how to submit quotes and bids.

Session 2 will focus on the Cal Fire Hired Equipment Program. This is the system the different Cal Fire area units utilize to contract with vendors, which follows a different process than the US Forest Service. This course will also highlight how certifications can assist in the bidding process, how to navigate local area units with assistance from the small business advocate at Cal Fire.

NoteThe local SBDC has partnered with Shasta College to bring a series of professional development courses. It’s a magical setting of hilly streets with authentic gas lamps, wandering carolers dressed in Victorian attire, and visitors sharing holiday cheer and good tidings. Description: This course provides the knowledge and skills needed to identify the value of ethical behavior in instructional settings, describe how ethical norms influence individual ethics, identify a personal ethical perspective and core values and how they impact communication and ethical decision making, and make an ethical decision using an ethical decision-making model, in order to assist in making ethical decisions when faced with an ethical dilemma in an instructional setting and carry out the roles and responsibilities of an SFT instructor in an ethical manner.

6- Hour CA Notary Public Course and Exam

This course is designed to provide students with the knowledge and professional skills necessary to become a proficient California notary public and prepare for the State’s examination. 

In addition, this course will satisfy the California State’s mandatory education requirement of reviewing notary laws and practices for current notary public professionals seeking reappointment.  The successful applicant will become a more valuable employee or be able to start his/her own community business. 

California State Proctors will administer the Notary Examination at the end of the class. 

IMPORTANT: Class starts promptly at 8:00am. Please check in at the door prior to 8:00. Due to the mandated time to be in class, students who arrive after 8:30 will NOT be admitted, no exceptions. No refunds will be granted.

Incident Safety Awareness for Hired Vendors

This course provides an awareness of fireline and incident safety to hired vendors who plan to engage in wildland fire suppression and other incident support activities. It includes an overview of hazards and safety issues, entrapment avoidance, incident organization, how to recognize and mitigate risk, maintain safe work practices while working under an agency supervision, fire shelter deployment, and case studies. 

Designed For: Hired vendors working with the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) or the United States Forest Service (USFS) on any active incident, including water tender operators, heavy equipment drivers or operators, crew bus drivers, vehicles with a driver, mechanics, fallers, and swampers. 

Authority: California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE) and United State Forest Service (USFS) agreements

Standard: State Fire Training (SFT) requires every student to attend the entire course, participate in classroom and group discussions, complete and pass all activities, and complete an oral evaluation.
